Community for Modeling Agro-pastoral Lifeways in Eurasia
C-MAPLE (Community for Modeling Agro-Pastoral Lifeways in Eurasia) is a community effort developed to explore the theoretical and methodological strategies used by archaeologists to model the emergence and dynamics of agro-pastoral economies across time in greater Eurasia. Agro-pastoralism includes mobile or sedentary herding along with farming and/or management of wild plant resources. We aim to provide avenues for collaborative research into the origins, development, and dynamics of agro-pastoral lifeways across time and space. A major objective of this community is to bring together researchers engaged in primary data collection and analysis with experts in computer modeling and simulation (GIS, agent-based modeling, or other advanced analytic techniques). Please consider joining the community and contributing links to data or models!
